The Country Drive

Rust against indigo under shearling — the one look here with real colour in it.

De Weekend Hours

Notas de estilo

Rust and indigo are opposite ends of the wheel, which is exactly why they hold each other up. Put anything else in between and one of them loses.

The shearling is warm out of proportion to its weight, so the cardigan underneath can be a mohair blend rather than something heavy.

Why it works

  • One warm colour, one cool colour, and ecru holding the space between them.
  • Black boots stop the bottom of the outfit going soft.
  • The scarf picks up the indigo rather than introducing a fourth colour.

Swap it

The camel coat instead of the shearling, for a day that involves a town.
